Grokking Simplicity provides an excellent introduction to functional programming. Its approach is to teach functional thinking through javascript examples, rather than focusing on pure functional programming languages and mathematical concepts.

It is very accessible and I highly recommended t if you are not familiar with the functional programming paradigm.
